Shay De Castro is one of the most thrilling techno talents emerging from the United States, known for her high-energy, peak-time sound that merges relentless intensity with melodic depth. With releases on some of the most respected techno labels—including Factory 93, Kraftek, Respekt, and mau5trap—and support from Amelie Lens, Adam Beyer, ANNA, and Alan Fitzpatrick, she is carving out her own lane in modern techno with a fierce commitment to artistic authenticity.

A self-made artist from Boise, Idaho—far from the world’s techno capitals—Shay’s rise has been one of pure passion, perseverance, and a unique sonic identity. Inspired by the euphoria of trance and the raw power of peak-time techno, she developed a signature style that balances ferocity with emotion, captivating audiences worldwide.

Shay’s latest work, “Unclose Me” (out on Kraftek), is a collaboration with the iconic Pleasurekraft. A poetic, borderline-romantic techno piece, it reflects Shay’s deep connection to literature and lyricism, and showcases her ability to channel raw emotion into the dancefloor. It marks another step forward in her evolution as a bold, genre-defining storyteller in techno.

Her breakthrough moment came with the release of “Memento” on Factory 93, which soared to #18 on the Beatport Techno charts, and later #3 with her collab with Pleasurekraft, “Unclose Me”. She’s also earned support slots for Eli Brown’s U.S. tour, and her dynamic performances have lit up stages at Amsterdam Dance Event, Beyond Wonderland, and top clubs across Europe, the Americas, and the U.S., including Exchange LA, Superior Ingredients NYC, and Sisyphos Berlin.

Shay’s music regularly finds its way into the sets of techno’s biggest names, played at festivals like Tomorrowland, Awakenings, and Time Warp. Her powerful, groove-driven productions have earned her repeat signings on labels like Factory 93 and Mau5trap, while her remix work - such as her 2024 collaboration on Kiesza’s “I Go Dance”  - has expanded her reach beyond traditional techno audiences.
